I love that Linux exists but it just can't work as a total replacement for Windows.
I love so many open source programs yet these often can't be used if you need to collaborate with others.
What can I do?
Maybe if I write a lot I can come up with some portion of a solution.
My Needs
- Linux server that can replace Active Directory
Maybe if users are only using Google software online, then just a portal to access this is sufficient.de
Ongoing list of issues
- Manditory MS account for Windows 11 Home
- Announced to be Manditory - MS acount for Windows 11 Pro
- Can't ungroup tasbar items (like multiple browser windows)
- Can't drag anything (shortcuts) onto the taskbar
- Can't show all icons in the Systray (area by the clock)
Announced to be Manditory - MS acount for Windows 11 Pro
We paid a fair amount more money for the Pro edition just so we wouldn't have to have the MS account.
Q - Will current installations update and then you won't be able to log in one day until you create an account?
Alternative OS
Linux Mint
Alternative Software I Use
And that I feel is an excellent product that could be used by many if they took the time to learn it.
Blender
Kdenlive
KiCad
Inkscape
Thunderbird
7zip
VLC media player
Software I can't find and alternative for
CATIA - This will never happen
Fusion 360
Video games and all related - Steam is close with Proton - Yes I know we have Tux Racer but it just doesn't quite cut it
Adobe Suite - I can work around most of this but not average users - This needs to be broke down by each application in the suite
